I once spent literally an entire dinner date trying to explain this concept to my ex-boyfriend. I said if a guy rolls up his sleeves a few times and either wears a waistcoat or loosens his tie a little, girls go nuts. He said that didn’t make sense, and that, logically, shirtlessness should always be more attractive.

The whole conversation was a lost cause.
